Project Background

As a part of Play-it Company’s operations, we specialize in developing customized platforms to meet specific requirements and needs of businesses.

Teva Company approached us with the objective of finding an efficient learning solution for their global supply chain. They aimed to empower their employees worldwide with comprehensive knowledge in this area.

Our team embarked on creating a platform tailored to the needs of 5,000 Teva employees across 22 countries and 5 continents. The entire project spanned six months of dedicated effort, involving close collaboration with Teva and our Play-it development and design team.

the challenges

The challenges faced during the TEVA Project were diverse and significant:

  1. Understanding the Supply Chain: Initially, the team had to grasp the intricacies of Teva’s supply chain, comprehending each stage of the process and understanding how it would influence the user experience on the platform.

  2. Cross-Cultural User Experience: Creating a platform that caters to a global audience, encompassing different languages and cultures, presented a major challenge. The team needed to ensure that the platform was user-friendly and engaging for people from diverse backgrounds.

  3. Integrating Complex Industries: Dealing with industries like logistics, pharmaceuticals, and supply chain, which are often considered “gray” areas, posed a challenge. The team had to translate these intricate subjects into a virtual, design-focused environment while adhering to Teva’s brand guidelines to make the learning experience enjoyable for employees.

  4. Successful E-Learning Implementation: Designing a learning platform (E-learning) that could effectively achieve its goals was a completely new undertaking for the team. They had to devise innovative and engaging approaches to make learning effective and enjoyable for Teva’s employees.

  5. Concurrent Project Management: The team faced the additional hurdle of managing the TEVA Project alongside the development of Play-it 1.0 platform. Balancing both projects concurrently required careful planning and efficient coordination to ensure successful outcomes for both ventures.

Overcoming these challenges required dedication, expertise, and seamless collaboration between the Play-it team and Teva’s stakeholders. Through six months of hard work, they ultimately delivered a successful learning platform for Teva’s global supply chain.

The research process

The research process was pivotal in ensuring the success of the TEVA Project. Led by the design department, extensive research was conducted to gain a profound understanding of the target audience’s cultural nuances and preferences, which were crucial to implementing them effectively at the design level and enhancing the overall user experience.

The research phase was a meticulous and time-consuming endeavor. The team spent several weeks studying various platforms and games in the countries where TEVA’s employees were based. This approach was taken to gain insights into the local gaming trends, design aesthetics, and user interaction patterns prevalent in each region.

By examining and analyzing existing platforms and games popular in the target countries, the team could identify elements that resonated with the local audience. This knowledge was then incorporated into the design of the TEVA learning platform, ensuring it would be well-received and engaging for users worldwide.

Additionally, during the research process, the team sought to understand the unique challenges and requirements specific to the logistics, pharmaceuticals, and supply chain industries. This knowledge was vital in translating complex topics into an accessible and enjoyable learning experience for TEVA employees.

The research findings served as a foundation for decision-making throughout the project’s development phase. By tailoring the platform’s design and user experience to accommodate diverse cultures and preferences, the team aimed to create a truly inclusive and effective learning environment.

Overall, the extensive research undertaken by the design department played a crucial role in shaping the TEVA Project’s success, as it laid the groundwork for a platform that effectively catered to the global audience while staying true to TEVA’s brand identity and learning objectives.

the solution

The solution devised for the TEVA Project was innovative and effective, focusing on interactive games and a competition-based approach to enhance the learning experience. Here are the key elements of the solution:

  1. Interactive Games: The team designed a series of interactive games, each representing a different stage of the supply chain process. These games were engaging and educational, allowing employees to actively participate and learn through hands-on experiences.

  2. Monthly Competition: To foster motivation and engagement, a monthly competition was introduced among users in the 22 participating countries. This competition encouraged employees to participate regularly, interact with the platform, and compete with colleagues from around the world, making learning a fun and rewarding experience.

  3. Keep it Simple Approach: Adopting a “Keep it simple” philosophy, the platform’s design and development were streamlined to ensure ease of use for a diverse global audience. Uniform buttons, clean colors, and concise, targeted text were used to enhance user-friendliness and facilitate easy navigation.

  4. Training Videos: In addition to interactive games, the platform included training videos to supplement the learning process. These videos provided in-depth explanations, insights, and demonstrations related to the supply chain topics, enhancing the overall learning experience.

  5. 1 Game – 1 Frame: The platform employed a one-game-per-frame strategy, presenting each game in a focused and digestible manner. This approach prevented overwhelming users with excessive information and allowed them to concentrate on one topic at a time, leading to better retention and understanding.

By combining interactive games, healthy competition, user-friendly design, training videos, and a simplified approach, the TEVA Project’s solution ensured that employees from different countries could easily access and benefit from the platform. The implementation of this comprehensive solution contributed significantly to the success of the project, effectively achieving its goal of providing an efficient and enjoyable learning experience for Teva’s global workforce in the supply chain domain.
